Itinerary
FROM MONTECATINI TO LUCCA CA. 22 KM / EASY / CITY BIKE / 1 DAY
You will leave by train from Montecatini to Lucca where you will pick up your bike and begin to admir the varied beauty of the city of Lucca and its surrounding area.
Lucca seen from the top of its cycle path along the Walls (12 meters high), offers a special observation point over the whole city. You will stop for a visit at Piazza Anfiteatro, built on the remains of the ancient Roman Amphitheater, nowadays full of typical bars and trattorias where you can not miss a break for a drink.
From there, continuing north, you will reach one of the most beautiful villas in Lucca, Villa Reale, where you can choose between a guided tour (to be booked separately) or an individual tour (admission fee).
You will then continue along the cycle path that runs along the Serchio river and that will take you to the city for a last farewell before taking the train back to Montecatini, with a stop in Lucca to the return back the bikes.
